Awesome site with interesting buildings to see. Guides are helpful and informative. This is the 2nd time I have visited Port Arthur and still had an enjoyable day out. Ensure to do the included walking tour and the bot cruise - both give further background information.

Fantastic Historic Site

Fantastic Historic Site. Spent half a day here but would recommend full day if possible. The tour guide was very informative and it's a great way to learn about history and then explore the site. The cruise is also a great added bonus. Overall the staff were all friendly and would recommend visiting Port Arthur Historic Site.

The Port Arthur Historic Site was great

The Port Arthur Historic Site was great. The grounds were immaculate. The guide was extremely informative and certainly gave you a thorough insight into what the men (and boys) went through during their time there. I would thoroughly recommend this tour.

I am so grateful for all the hard working staff and organisation for preserving history and making the site so enjoyable and interesting! Worth a whole day spent appreciating history. Booking online saved my family from standing in the long queue! Despite being super busy, the site is large enough to cater for all needs.

What an amazing day
Anand Krishnan 11 months ago

What an amazing day! It was indeed very sad to think that such a beautiful place is filled with dark memories of people that suffered punishments, which were disproportionately severe for the crimes that they committed. The guides were well-informed and the harbour cruise topped off a great morning. Would recommend it.

Amazing tour and place

Amazing tour and place. A must do with family or friends. Allow 4 hours to appreciate the history and soak it all in. Add the boat ride with an island tour. History and preservation are fantastic. We think we do it tough, wait until you see how tough it really was even for kids of all ages.
